Hydrafacial 101

When it comes to skincare, we love a good regime and wearing spf ( can’t forget that). However the hydrafacial is the perfect pick me up that gives your skin the ultimate glow and cleanse.

There are several steps involved in the hydrafacial. You’re probably wondering why is this facial so special ? What makes it better than the rest ?

Hydrafacial steps

At Revive we start off by cleansing the skin, followed by a light toner in order to prime and prep your skin for the next step of the hydrafacial, which is the dermabrasion ( this rids your skin of all impurities and allows it to be more receptive to the infusion of glycolic and salicylic acid we infuse after ).

Once we get all the peels applied, the extraction phase of the facial takes place. This is honestly the best part of the hydrafacial. This is where your skin soaks up the vitamins and we take out the nasty stuff ( you’ll see for yourself the canister when we finish ).

This is followed by the final step, which is a hyaluronic peptide infusion to restore moisture and glow, this creates a youthful and smooth face. We like to finish off  with adding some LED light therapy to stimulate collagen before your facial ends. We use both red and blue lights to help stimulate your skin.

The best part about a Hydrafacial we customize and can alter the steps and products based on your skin needs ! That means every facial is catered and individualized because let’s face it we are all unique inside and out.

What does the hydrafacial do?

1. Detox

This step increases lymphatic circulation in your skin. Sounds crazy, but in simpler terms, by moving a suction tip device along your skin we get rid of the bad stuff ( aka DETOXING).  Better lymphatic circulation not only helps move out toxins and give your skin a fresh feel, but it is cleansed! ( say goodbye to the nasty nasty stuff – GROSSS) . Also detoxing increases blood flow, providing extra oxygen to invigorate the skin.

2. Exfoliation

The exfoliating, vacuum tip is passed all over the skin to gently remove dead skin cells, while all at the same time delivering a revitalizing serum (customized to your skin type) ( you can add different boosters throughout your treatment) to hydrate and protect the skin.

3. Acids

To clean deeply into pores, a glycolic or salicylic solution is pressed all over the skin which helps to decongest pores and brighten the skin.

4. Extraction

A water and suction treatment then takes place (using a vortex-extraction nozzle) to gently draw out whiteheads, blackheads, and oil trapped in pores. That’s when you truly get everything out, and your skin becomes refreshed. This is the step that helps you get tiny, tight pores! Which we all dream of !!!!

5. Serum-infusion

The final step for many treatments is the application of a nourishing serum that drenches skin with potent, protecting antioxidants, collagen-supporting peptides, and hydrating hyaluronic acid. It will leave your skin feeling insanely soft, plump and it helps smooth out the appearance of fine lines. Say hello to decreases texture and a youthful glow.
