FAQ

Where is the office located?

819 N 2nd Street, Philadelphia PA 19123. Between Poplar and Brown, Our doors are yellow, you can't miss us 😉

What should I expect after I get filler done?

Swelling and/or bruising will occur when you leave the office. Sometimes the swelling may be uneven on both sides of the face which may make your filler appear to be uneven, but no worries, please allow yourself sometime for the swelling to go down. The first 24-48 hrs are the worst. We always say don’t love it or hate it for the first 7-10 days. Give it some time to settle and trust the process.

What kind of filler do you use?

We use Galderma, Allergan, and Mertz products. During your consultation your provider will do a full face assessment and determined which products will be best to meet your aesthetics goals.

How long does getting your lips done take?

About 45 mins.

How much is it to get my lips done?

This varies on your desired results and what your lips already look like. We believe in a natural pout so we try not to over do it, unless that is what you are looking for, What Dr Gombar typically tries to do is start with 1/2 a syringe of filler and she will show you the results, if you still want them bigger than she will go ahead and add more. Half a syringe in 400$. Full syringe in 650$. Rarely is more than one syringe put into the lips at one visit but if that is the case the second syringe is discounted. We try not to charge by syringe here, rather by a result! If you do 1/2 a syringe and decide you want them more plump you can always come back for more, if the appointment is scheduled within 1 month of your first lip injection it will only be charged the remainder of the charge for a full syringe which is 250$.

How painful is getting lip injections?

Lip injections are more uncomfortable than painful. If pain is a big concern for you just let us know that you would like to be numbed as soon as you get in so we can put some topical numbing on you as soon as you get there. There is lidocaine in the product so you get numbed as you do the injections.  But it’s quick and very much tolerable!

How much is Botox/Dypsort?

Neurotoxin (Botox/Dysport/Xeomin) is charged per unit, starting at $13-$14 per unit. It lasts anywhere from 3-4 months (really depends on how quickly your body metabolizes and how strong that muscle is). PREVENTION is key.

I already have a deep line in my forehead, 11’s, or crows feet. Will I need filler also in that area?

I do both filler and Botox. For those lines, even though they’re static lines, meaning they are there even when you are not making expression, I would still start with Botox. Those lines will go away once you freeze the underlying muscle and do your part by consistently using a good skin regimen. The reason those lines form is bc you probably make a lot of facial expressions and you use those muscles often, so you crease the skin over top of those muscles. When you do that over and over the line starts to form that’s there even when you’re not making those faces. That, combined with the fact that our skin starts to thin as we age leads us to form wrinkles. Once you stop making those faces (which you will stop making after botox) the over lying skin no longer creases and those lines smooth out. You can certainly put a little bit of filler in those areas if it bothers you that much but I would start with Botox in those areas, give it a month or so to see how your skin bounces back after not being able to form those creases, and then you can make the decision about also doing a filler. We will discuss a good skin regimen which you can use in those areas after botox that will also help. But in general, doing filler for those lines isn’t necessary, just botox and a good skin regimen!Microneedling is also great for your skin and also for static lines too. There are so many options and since your young and starting it now you won’t have a problem getting rid of those lines at all!

How often should I get Toxin?
Botox is a neuromodulator so it essentially stops the muscle in that area from contracting and pulling the skin over top of it, that is what causes us to have lines/wrinkles in the first place. This is why I say it is preventive.
You don’t HAVE to keep up with it but I do recommend to keep up bc once the Botox wears off you will start moving those muscles and forming those same lines/wrinkles again. But if you decide you don’t want to do it anymore the botox would not have made it worse. All the botox does is pretty much stop time, beccause the time the botox is working those lines will start to get better and better, once the Botox stops working and if you don’t get a touch up you just start reforming them.
What is Kybella? How much is it?

Kybella is a non-invasive procedure that requires multiple fine injections of active ingredients into the treatment area beneath the skin to seemingly melt away fat and expel it from the body. The ingredient in Kybella permanently destroys fat cells and then your body eliminates them through your lymphatic system.  This can be an effective treatment to remove pockets of fat on the face (FDA cleared for underneath the chin), neck and body. Unlike surgery, these treatments are usually relatively simple, require no post-operative recovery time, require no heavy bandages or garments, and no anesthetic is necessary. The cosmetic application includes removal of small, stubborn, unwanted pockets of fat that are resistant to diet and exercise. Lipolysis (the destruction of fat cells) is not suitable for weight loss and should be combined with a healthy lifestyle including a sensible exercise and dietary program for optimal results. Some fat deposits are especially suited for treatment while others are not. Treatments consist of 1 to 4 treatments (usually 2 or 3) approximately 4 to 6 weeks apart, depending on healing. The results are permanent and the length of swelling depends on the patient and the fullness in the treatment area. The more fat you have, the more swelling you will likely have. The swelling can last from 2-6 weeks. There is usually no down time with the exception of the swelling. Some minor soreness may be experienced after. Numbness is common and can be present for 4-6 weeks so don’t panic. You are asked to massage the area after the procedure to help with hardness that will occur. Starts at $500 per vial and its recommended to do 2 vials to see the best results.

Is everyone a candidate for Kybella?

Everyone is a candidate for Kybella BUT Kybella may not be the best option for everyone. Sometimes surgery may very well be the best option for you. We will discuss this during your appointment. You may also require other treatments with Kybella such as radio frequency or ultrasound tightening of the skin.

What is PRP?

PRP is a natural product created from your own body. A small amount of blood is drawn from you and placed in a sterile tube that is spun down in a centrifuge to separate the different components of the blood. Red and white blood cells are divided from the platelets and the plasma (the gold serum). This plasma now contains a higher than normal number of platelets and is called platelet rich plasma, or PRP.  The plasma has been used for years for years for its ability for natural healing and cell repair. Read below to learn about its applications in hair growth and skin rejuvenation.

What is Microneedling? Do you offer Radio frequency too?
Micro needling is a very safe, effective non-surgical and non-ablative treatment for various skin conditions such as fine wrinkles, acne scarring and hyper-pigmentation. Clinical studies have shown professional micro needling to be comparable to fractional laser treatment.  By creating micro-injuries to the skin, it initiates skin-healing response and stimulates collagen and elastin production resulting in thicker, younger looking skin. This procedure is combined with other rejuvenation treatments, including PRP to create maximal benefit and improve penetration of topically applied vitamins, peptides, and other ingredients. Microneedling is excellent for overall skin texture, scarring, laxity issues. Microneedling is contraindicated for patients who have a propensity to keloid. Microneedling is a maintenance procedure for those who want to maintain their skin tight, smoothness and glow. I recommend 3-10 treatments depending on each persons skin issues and goals. Average downtime is 2-3 days. You can also add PRP to this treatment.

Secret RF is a radiofrequency microneedling device that is designed to dramatically stimulate collagen by directly applying radiofrequency based heat to the dermis. What this means is because the system is using needles and heat, it is giving a much better result than traditional microneedling which uses needles alone. As result, patients will see an incredible improvement in their lines, wrinkles, scars of any type, acne scars, saggy or loose skin, and even stretch marks!
